Dear Members,
We are excited to announce that the City of Moreton Bay have locked in dates for the refurbishment of the Bribie Island Aquatic Leisure centre, and the works have now been confirmed. These essential works will ensure we continue to provide high‑quality aquatic facilities for our community.
The scope of works will include the following:
- Ground works and connections for new automated entry gates
- External painting of the venue
- Replacement of the 25m and leisure pool filters, which will stop filter media returning to the pools and allow the leisure pool features to be used again
- Defect rectification works:
- Front flyover roof – removing existing purlins and roof sheets, repainting structural steel, and installing new purlins and sheeting
- Indoor pool steelwork – replacing corroded steel on structural post flanges and roller door tracks
- Frontage steel support anchors – replacing corroded brackets on 11 struts
- Repairs to the program pool roof damaged in the November weather event (to be confirmed)
- Fencing repairs from the November weather event (to be confirmed)
Closure Timeline
Works commence: 20th April 2026 (Facility closed)
Expected completion: End of May 2026
We will continue to keep you informed and will provide further updates regarding alternative program arrangements, as well as options for accessing other surrounding facilities during the closure such as Caboolture and Burpengary. We are exploring options at these facility to accommodate you during this closure period.
